Counting my calories allowed me to notice how many calories I tend to consume during the day and whether or not I was eating healthier options over unhealthy ones. This experience made me take caution over what I eat and made me consider what I can replace that will better my body.

During the seven days where I have to make a caloric count of my daily food intake, I now realize and understand  the importance of having a balanced meal in my diet. Therefore, I have decided that I should do something to change my lifestyle to one that is healthier.  Some of the things that I must do is to eat less  food that contains carbohydrates and fat.  Instead, I should consume more vegetables and fruits.   Besides, I think I, too, should make a concerted effort to do more exercises on a regular basis.

calorie chart

Keeping track of calories made me realize how many calories make up meals and how many I tend to consume on a daily basis. Doing this I learned that I tend to stay on the lower side of on intake and should try to add more protein into my diet.

After knowing the calories that I consumed daily through my daily food intake for one week, I realise that I will gain weight by eating food which contains carbohydrates and protein such as bread and eggs.

My parents had always encouraged me to eat more vegetables when I was young as a child. As a result,  I like eating vegetables instead of meat. Although I do not like it, I understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

I maintain a healthy lifestyle by sleeping before 11pm and exerciing regularly 3 times a week.   And each exercise session will last for 30 minutes.

Many Malaysians are not aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and most of them sleep very late at night at around 12.00 a.m. or 1.00 a.m.
